So, the group continues their exploration but during faced a minotaur which they defeated! You also found its treasure which consisted of many, many Triad Cards! What a bonus! Next week we continue to move through the Borderlands! I'd think you all expect more battles of various dangerous creatures but is there another Minotaur or worse?

Kylor Speaks:
No I blame no-one for Mr. Meeks death but the Minotaur and the situation within the maze. The only person I blame is myself, for not pushing for us to take some time to organize ourselves before we have an encounter. We should each ensure that each of us to fill particular roles that compliment each of our skills and abilities. During this encounter, We allowed for several attacks to be launched because we were distracted and not staying alert for attacks. To correct this issue I suggest moving forward, someone will need to stay alert while others are investigating. I know that at least three of us took unnecessary attacks.
Taladel speaks:
As far as unified decisions go, there will be disagreements and I think Viceak handled his well, and didn't put the group at absolute risk of unnecessary battle..
There may be a time for confrontation with them, but please know, any evil acts by either party will be met with swift judgement and justice!
And Viceak, I respect you and your faith. Please do not question my valor and courage just because I did not act as rash as some might have liked...
Taladel speaks:
First off let me give my deepest condolences for the loss of Mr. Meeks...
He was a brave fellow and there is no doubt a loss.
Kylor, recognizing this being such a loss for you, I feel as if you might blame others for this terrible occurrence...If so, please state such?
You have mentioned a few times something lacking in terms of strategy. Is there something specific you can point out in terms of a suggestion to improve this.
The way I saw it, the Walls started turning and separating us. This was met quickly with action to reverse it. And although Mr Meeks was lost, you were quickly saved. As was others if I remember correctly.
We then had a plan to jam the walls open and it was executed beautifully..and we came in and dispatched this dreadful beast...
I look at this as a victory, although at a terrible loss of course. Kyle please let us know not only what you saw differently, but what specifically could have been done better?
Kylor Speaks: Again off completely off-topic,. Hopefully, the others will consider my proposal for tactical unity. It is sad that we don't have a united front in our interactions and tactics. Hopefully, we intelligently continue my conversation so that we can act as one in battle and out of it. When we face Morgrimm and her group again.
:
Kylor 'spank monkey' like work ethic of halfling…slow and ineffective 😄
Sindrax speaks.
Sorry about Mr Meeks. He was definitely helpful to the group and I know he was your friend aswell.
I guess now when you " spank the monkey " you will have to do it to your self, instead of Mr Meeks.
Kylor Speaks: I guess it is good to know that you are a good person and that you will not tolerate insults to you or your heritage I just fail to see how your Warhammer meeting Morgrimms head is connected to my previous point, of our group's lack of focus and unity. Before we move forward, we need to define our roles and expectations and what our goals as individuals and as a group are. So that we can act as one in battle and out of it. I just don't want to see our group put needlessly put at risk during our next encounter because we are all doing our own thing and not working together. I swear trying to keep you and Sindrax focused is like herding cats...lol .. let us try to stay on topic I fear our future success may depend upon it.
Meese a good person but any insult to me or me race have consequences. Unbearded lady which me dislike perhaps need to taste me warhammer. Caves are free for all to explore and some of me comrades have sandstone deficiency and have battle ethic of halfling. Me swear by me beard and forge, more insult from lady and me war hammer meet her head.
DM Speaks:
This is a tuff decision as I think most players feel that the end result with the Habba Al' Group will not be cordial. However, some characters have restrictions as to what actions they can take against them at this time. In reality they have not done anything evil which would warrant an immediate attack. Yes, they were sarcastic, attitude laden and irritable, but that doesn't warrant an attack unless you are completely chaotic and maybe slightly evil.
In truth I think you fear them even though you don't want to admit it! 🤣
Kylor Speaks This group will need to be addressed. Sadly, we know nothing about them, what they stand for, or why they are really here. They appear to look like a group of thieves, thugs, and assassins Information would be key here. I feel that our next encounter with them will be in battle. They look to be quite formable, did you each notice before how united in thought and action they were when Morgrimm was engaged in dialog with us. They were ready to move united at a moment's notice. You could tell by the tense muscles and eye focus. That is how we need to be. We were not even united in our interaction with them. This is linked to what I was saying before. We need to truly come together and be focused and united. We can do this by truly defining our roles and expectations and what our goals as individuals and as a group are. NOW is the time to discuss this ... I really hope we can have this conversation so that we can be the best that I know we all are. We can be something really great beyond how we started.
Kylor Speaks: Sindrax "So far, so good." ...REALLY!! My friend, were you even paying attention? How could you not have noticed the fact that we were needlessly put at risk during our encounter with the minotaur?? Or have missed my point about addressing this, especially since I just said it and no one else said anything. (lol DM distracting people) While I feel that the group we encountered needs to be addressed and discussed. I truly believe it can wait til we flesh out a way to ensure we don’t keep making the same lame mistakes. Like I said before we need Let’s figure out who’s skills and abilities best fill each needed role such a lookout, trap finder, face, tank, striker, controller, healer, support, and blaster. Or at least figure out who stays alert while others are investigating. This should help us to stop making these basic mistakes that cost us dearly.
Sindrax speaks
So far, so good. I had no idea minatours could be so intelligent and cunning. He definitely had us, a bit nervous. Especially with the shifting walls. We did come across so good booty. As for that other group. This could get serious real fast. I wonder if we both finish exploring the keep who gets the payment? If after they finish the south, will they leave and claim its all done, since we did the north and west. And they cleared the south. This is something to think about. It would not be good for us. If we came back to the captain saying it's all done. And this other group beat us back for the claim of payment.
DM Speaks Again:
Do you think at some point there will be issue with the Habba Al' Group? I felt there were some at the table that wanted to avoid hostility while others did not. If there is a hostile encounter, I would not be surprised if you initiated it! Let's see how this plays out moving forward.
I personally feel everything will be fine until it comes to the Western Caves and who has the right to explore it first and gain what's within. Right now, they "have" the South caves, and you "have" the North but when done what happens? You also have to explore the southern caves as outlined in your contract but that may be after the Habba Al' Group is done making the exploration rather simple if most enemies are dead.
DM Speaks:
I'm saddened by Mr. Meeks departure. He was a great bonus and fun in game. He will be missed.
Also, check out the pictures section under DM Posts and Points to see the group you encountered in the Borderlands - Habba Al' Group! Second thoughts on whether you should have fought or not? Intimidating in the pic or simple fodder?
Kylor Speaks:
While we were ultimately successful in taking out the minotaur, however we put us needlessly at risk during our encounter, by not staying on our "A" game. We allowed for several attacks to be launched because we were distracted and not staying alert for attacks. Moving forward, someone will need to stay alert while others are investigating. We should each being taking certain roles that compliments our skills and abilities. This maze was not a cakewalk and was a true challenge with the shifting walls was something I personal was not prepared for and never encountered. Sadly, this put me directly within the minotaur’s attack; this attack took Mr. Meeks from us and nearly took my life as well. In some way, I believe that Mr. Meeks ensured I would survive. May Desna bless his journey into the afterlife. So, let’s ensure we don’t keep making the same lame mistakes by having a conversation. Let’s figures out who’s skills and abilities best fills each needed role such a lookout, trap finder, face, tank, striker, controller, healer, support, and blaster. Or at least figure out who stay alert while others are investigating. This should help us move our game to the next level while ensuring our success. As we move forward, this seems to be getting more challenging, let us be ready.
