DM Speaks:
We end tonight at the top of the borderland entry looking down into the basin where the cave entrances are. However, entry was decided not to be done! Why? Well, it was because of the hundreds upon hundreds of individuals that were standing within the Borderland basin when from the center arose a monstrous creature. A two-armed gargantuan green monstrosity that from its two arms had multiple other snake-like protrusions. Two heads adorned the top of its torso with a draconic/demonic look. This enormous creature moved through the hundreds slaughtering and eviscerating any that stood in its way with complete disregard even for life though it seemed they were showing it worship and favor. It climbed the borderland cavernous walls and moved off in a direction of Montravail!
Now, as the creature left the group felt, I'd assume some relief, and were happy to make their way to the Borderland cave entrances. However, are there still ones alive in the basin after this creature left? Are they allies or enemies? Who knows but the borderland entrances await, and you have some decisions to make!
This is just the end note of an action-packed game with multiple battles against numerous goblins who had good terrain set-up making the battle much more difficult and the red drakes led by Aflax Gardenshire the strange experimental wizard! Who the hell is he? Strange without question! Ally? Enemy? This shall be seen in some time but what do you think?
And here is the creature that arose from the Borderland ceremony!
And take a look at NPC pictures to see what Aflax Gardenshire looks like.
Gave 3 XP player bonuses tonight for saying the "PASSWORD" to me this evening! Thanks for paying attention (it makes me smile) and good for you and your reward)! Keep an eye out on the boards for clues, secrets and hints for many things! It may be more than bonus xp's in the future!
Kylor Speaks: Where the demon is heading is pure speculation, we just know it was moving in the general direction of Montravail. If the demon was truly heading towards Montravail, there is no way we can get there before it does. We can only travel by foot. We have no magical means of travel. I know that I do not have any magical means of communication. Even if we did who would we send the message to that would believe the message. For me the pressing questions, that we may find the answers to and may offer more insight are the following: We need to discover clues as to why there was a group of hundreds upon hundreds of individuals here that were standing within the Borderland basin to just get slaughtered.
What is the significance of this basin and why??? Why this Demon and why now ?? I think investigating here will turn up more information and possibly have a greater impact, such as a possible way to unsummon, weaken, defeat, or trap the demon. However, as I said before right now everything about this demon is purely speculation on our part, because we have no facts.
Taladel speaks:
While I may agree Montravail does not need us to defend it, I am torn in not giving some kind of warning to my home.
Are we sure this Demon is heading to Montavail, and how will we ever be able to arrive before it in order to give a warning are pressing questions...
I pray to Iomedae...
what does everyone else think ??
DM Speaks:
Well, it certainly does look like Demogorgon doesn't it! Were these individuals who gave their lives demon worshippers to this demon lord? Most likely. Their life sacrifice was probably a religious giving to what they believed their lord and savior. Crazy, but we have seen crazier faiths and beliefs in our own world.
If Demogorgon does go to Montravail and the city is incapable of defending itself what real help do you think your characters could to assist at this level? Maybe previous characters could but do you really think your current ones would make a difference in the battle outcome?
This will play out and, in the future, you will see the results. I'm glad my description of the demon lord matched what you through as Demogorgon. Before Stranger Things he was always my favorite demon lord. The two heads with disputing personalities to control its own actions and decisions was awesome and still is. Stranger Things tried to steal my favorite Demon Lord, but he is still mine and only I know what his plans are!
Last point: sometimes it's smart to avoid a situation!
Kylor Speaks: That Demon is beyond us. The Great City of Montravail will be fine, it is protected and has it guardians the Flaming Fist, as well as, the Montravailian army, navy and magical protections. There is no need to warn the Montravail, it has eye open for threats. The great city has stood for years without our assistance and will continue to do so. I hope and I am sure it is not going to head to Montravail. I am sure the city is safe. As for my family, as far as I am concerned the Wicked Wench is my family. What family I had in Montrvail abandoned me and left me to starve. So even if they are still there and alive, fuck them, they are dead to me and not worthy of my time. My vote is to stay focused on our task and mission; for me, the entire reason why we are here is to explore the borderlands. Perhaps while we are here we will discover clues as to why there was a group of hundreds upon hundreds of individuals here that were standing within the Borderland basin to just get slaughtered. What is the significance of here and why??? Chasing after the demon just doesn't make a lot of sense to me when the City of Montrvail is equipped to handle practically any threat. I think we need to explore the basin before heading into the caves? What are your thoughts on this matter? What does everyone want to do??
Sean Speaks: I was like OMG This demon sounds like Demogorgon and now the picture confirmed it. Wow ...so cool and such a great moment. Plus my inner geek was like now we are going be having a Stranger Things moment... sadly we do not have El in a group. LOL
I saw the picture of Aflax . He looks little creepy
Yeah, I was like, WTH is going on with all these people here. And this demon, thing. Where is it going. If it's going to Montravail, then we have to warn people. We all family there, even me. That we wouldn't want to see, be destroyed by this thing. I am praying it doesn't go to Montravail.
