DM Speaks:
With a sad heart I must announce that all members of the Sea Dogs have died. I'm going to speak openly here so take no offense or anger against me. It was a completely one-sided battle. Desicus easily eliminated the group with not more than a brush of damage to his hide. He was still fully healthy with all defenses up. His beloved Beluri was completely uninjured with all her powers ready to be unleashed. The two were more powerful than you anticipated, and the Sea Dogs were not prepared for their assault.
They were aware you'd come back and were prepared. Their simple levitation magic caused issue but more importantly Desicus's massive spell assault is what did you in. He proved his supreme ability and the talk of Beluri being the true power was easily dismissed after his demonstration. Desicus destroyed you and proved you should have never come back to challenge him.
You came with everything and everyone you knew calling back Taladel and Viceak and now all are dead.
Desicus and Beluri sit down, relax and have a drink of blood or taste of flesh from each of your bodies.
To their delight Quavol's flesh has a wonderful but salty taste. They enjoy eating him.
Tasting Ollie they throw it to the rats disgusted by its worthless taste of piss and salt!
Sadly, the thighs of Sindrax's are quite tuff having no fat and all muscle. Not enjoyable,
Next, they take a bite of Viceak, but spit it out quickly stating dwarf meat has no taste.
Picking up the corpse of Kylor they bite into his cheek tasting his sourness and spitting it out.
Looking at Taladel, they spit on his body and then delight on pissing on it. No eating, just disgrace.
DM Speaks:
I felt it was appropriate to end the Sea Dogs History with the following two pictures!
The first is the group and their preparedness against their hated enemies! Very confident!
The second is the unfortunate outcome as Desicus stands tall and Beluri lays back in laughter at the destruction of all!
On June 15, 2022 I posted this to the boards: It is about our last (near) TPK - Viceak ran away, dragging Taladel's body): We all knew we had several opportunities to leave the cave, you gave us both implicit and explicit hints about leaving. After everyone fell, my character could have easily left but however, but Xandor wanted to try to negotiate with the kobolds so that he could leave with his friends. We knew the risk when we started, and it is that risk that makes our game exciting and fun when we do succeed. I am disappointed about losing that storyline. Moving forward, I am super excited about the new campaign and can't wait to see how things unfold for the group Sharing this to underscore that TPKs are rare and that they give birth to some amazing campaigns
Sean Speaks: The TPK is very disappointing and depressing. I never believed that Desicus and Beluri were as powerful as they stated, especially since they were masters of deception and lies. The group just had some very, very bad luck the past two sessions. The luck of the dice was not with us. Even though we had a TPK, I have no regret in our attempt to take out Desicus, even though the SeaDogs were annihilated. I loved how we processed the TPK and the end of the Campaign. Sadly, the stories of the SeaDogs are not going to unfold anymore
DM Speaks Again:
This not only wiped out our current group but former members (Viceak and Taladel). Desicus sadly took out every remnant of the Sea Dogs and others. Family connections are ALL GONE!
No family member of the Sea Dogs is alive as Desicus has taken the pleasure to announce himself and then slaughtered them. He announced their death was because of YOU! ALL WERE SLAUGHTERED!
DM Speaks:
I'm all over the boards with posts tonight with what has happened. Please join me in your ideas and thoughts as we have a 2-week delay between games. Before we jump forward, I think we need time to talk about what has happened. It was an epic battle and TPK'S do not happen, and it DID!
I'm shocked, unprepared and seriously sad!
I probably put this 2-week game delay more for me than you or game needs to accept the situation.
It is not easy on me and maybe much harder than you think! I'm quite sad!
