Before you entered the Monastery of Souls you eliminated the demonic Vessib Voner and returned him back to his supposed normal self. He claims he was controlled by something unknown and all magics could not detect the true nature of the controls.
The group then approached the inner grounds of the Monastery of Souls but two guards stood strong disallowing entry (Jevon and Anden). After some discussion they understood the groups position and allowed entry. They warned the group of the Barghest inside and when the group entered they encountered them with success. However, the group did not expect the Animated Standards above the Monastery to attack but they did! The group was, however, successful in eliminating them!
With that success the gargoyle statues perched above the Monastery animated to attack.
We start next week battling 5 Gruesome Gargoyles who seem determined to disallow entrance into the Monastery of Souls!
Kylor: SeaDogs We have to be smart and prepared for anything. There is much here that we dont understand. We will need to take our time and not try to rush through. this mission sounded like a quick walk though .. but it appears much more than meets the eye.
DM Speaks:
This mission was somewhat made by your suggestions - NAH. You didn't want undead, you didn't want mystery, you didn't want death, and you didn't want an epic enemy! Well, I think that is all before you!
I'M NOT SURE ALL WILL EVEN MAKE IT TO THE END WITHOUT DYING!
Start thinking of new characters my players as there is some pretty dangerous stuff ahead and a very epic enemy at the end - oh so exciting in the anticipation but you are SEA DOGS and always suceed!
Captain Bluebeards Seadogs never fail!
So far things have beenb going, ok. There is something new living in this Monastery. It seems like Quavael has a very keen eye. I didn't even notice them move. At first, I was all behind, working with these guards. But that has turned out better. Lets see what is behind these gates
Taladel speaks:
I worry that our leaving for a day gave this new God and his minions opportunity to fortify against us..
The guard Anden was also aware of this likelyhood..
We can try to conserve our most powerful assets in light of this..
DM Speaks:
I am so looking forward to the steps ahead on this mission. I know you will enjoy the mysteries, challenges and battles. I believe them to be somewhat epic and possibly something which will be remembered long term. We shall see. I'm sad we will miss Pete next week as I'd love him to get the feel of the entire Monastery as I want to give a true feeling of what this place is about you delve further (pardon the interruption but the secret word is Jevon and Aden for 500 xp's). Enjoy the adventure for better or worse!
No terrain has been revealed yet but it will next week. This is terrain that has taken me hours to prepare so you better enjoy or DIE trying! 🤓
