Sounds so peaceful, but is it? First Viceak was in the stockade on the Wicked Wench. Do Not Cross the Captain!
Next, you saw the Dark Kirin and some of its power, but you know you must get the cloud giant treasure by order of Captain Bluebeard reagdless of how powerful the external guardains may be. There's no question about it unless you're going "rogue" which you can if desired.
You do have the phantom steeds for another 13 hours so that is greatly helpful but are you ready for the attack? You know what's before you, now it's simply a question of whether you can defeat them!
Comments for BIG XP's are always appreciated! Post away and GREAT Game!
Kylor Speaks: Seadogs, Taladel's suggestion of using hit-and-run tactics to draw off and fight small numbers of the main force has great merit. It also allows us to use some of the tactics that Tacomora suggested as well as allowing him and Sindrax to ambush using stealth and sneak attacks. Facing a smaller group gives us a chance to test what will and won't work while allowing us a greater chance at retreat should things move sour too quickly.
Here are some honest, forthright feelings from the DM about this Cloud Giant mission.
I'm personally very excited for it. Why? First, I look forward to a fairly simple and straight forward attack with your enemies. Yes, cloud giants have alternate tactics and magic but giants in general like to smash and that simply requires me rolling dice and not looking at multiple options for attack. Additionally, these attacks can be devastating and there is fun rolling some heavy damage seeing you as players worry whether you can survive another attack or not.
I'm also interested in the possibility of a TPK. Don't get me wrong I'm NOT hoping or wanting it, but I do recognize that these battles are going to be dangerous and have a higher probability of eliminating the entire group than others. That gets me excited knowing that the battles will all be pretty epic and have you as players fighting for your lives with worry and fear. There are many battles where there is a threat but I know you are not too worried about a TPK or even a loss of any. That's great and how our world is. Not all battles should be death sentences.
I often internally laugh thinking how you often (not always) shy away from what appears to be very dangerous and risky missions. Not all the time and I surely understand your decisions are based on playing smart and not taking unnecessary risk. That's great and smart, but I still chuckle!
I guess the point of this post is "I'm Excited for the Battles to Come"!
First, I look forward to Viceak's return very much (yep that's Pete). I didn't recognize until last week how much I enjoy his role playing and addition to the game. He adds a great deal and I look forward to his return!
I would like to bring up a few things to continue maximum game enjoyment for all. These points are just a reminder and NOT directed towards anyone.
#1) Arguing Rules: Never good. Discussing rules are great, but when a cordial decision is made it should end. Sometimes it will be in your favor but others it may not. Either way I am never trying to take advanatge and just may disagree with a certain rule point. I always try and go in your favor if it has a significant affect on your PC! I'm for you, not against!
#2)Flippant Attitude: I HATE this! Giving the "I don't care" or "If I die I have another PC idea" hurts my feelings a bit. Makes me feel you have no investment in the game or your character. Sure you can be ready with the next PC but simply offering the "who cares" attitude is bothersome.
#3) Unreliability: One thing I appreciate is consistency with the game. We play every week without question. Nobody has to ask or question whether there will be a game as you know there WILL BE! Things come up every once in a while but I hope you can all try your hardest to arrange things around the game as best as possible.
#3) I Am The Man Attitude: I'm sorry to say but NO ONE person is "the man" (except the guy who was with Chico - if you get that reference good for you). We are ALL the MAN. Be cool and respect all at the table!
I do hope that maybe we can encounter our adversaries in small groups and allow us to even our odds by reducing their numbers advantage...i think if we are patient, we can avoid the full assault sustained by a direct attack on the castle...We can undertake that once we feel we have made a dent in their forces...hopefully!
I agree with , Taladels tactics. Us taking out smaller numbers, at a time. Is what we need to do. The moment we get close to the castle or even detected near the castle. The ballistics will start, guards will begin to attack and who knows what else gets alerted. Remeber kylor almost died, being hit by one of those giant boulders. Yes, at some point we will have to go to the castle. But that shouldn't be our first move. Can anyone summon, that flying horse back here. I would love to have a conversation with him. But he probably wont talk to me at all. Actually maybe one of the LG guys could ask him a question for me. Can you ask him, how did the giant castle get damaged??
Its definitely not fishing. I put two many stars, to cover up the word. I should have used 2 instead of 3. That was a very good, guess. Definitely made me chuckle
On another note, I was happy to see so many magic items and Triad cards used tonight! Yep, I always love to dwindle your HUGE treasure horde! I do GIVE, but I do like to TAKE!

I feel like a little worm on a big f***ing hook. That's about all I have to say, for now
