DM Speaks:
The group, along with Linli and Zilvaran entered the House of Srune' Lett (Nint' Zar's house) to destroy the Matron Mother. Before heading to the house, the group stopped by the pub of Taras Y' Nor to have a few drinks and speak with him. Relationship with him is still strong upon leaving.
Entering the stalactite (which hangs from the ceiling) the group were able to enter the first floor and eliminate some male drow guards. It seems no stairs lead from floor to floor but the group was able to find out that in order to move to the next level they needed to find the floor portals which allow this.
With resources being eliminated the group was in the process of discussing whether to sleep or move on?
Some magic items were recovered tonight as well.
So, next week you continue your trek up the levels of House of Srune' Lett to eliminate the matron mother! Does she know you are coming or is she unaware? Quite the endeavor!
DM Speaks:
I think you recognize it, but what you are doing is a HUGE mission of danger and risk. I'm talking about a possible TPK and end to this campaign. If all should die on this mission, we will not be leaving the Underdark. It is still way to new and fresh, and I have so much more to entertain you with. I'd love to do it with this group but if the unfortunate situation happens and we have a TPK then others will take on the missions ahead. What PC's those may be are unknown, but they will be traveling the Underdark (at least for a while). At least that's how I feel right now.
Here is the perfect picture of the stalactite populated drow city of Menzoberranzan.
Xar'Zin Speaks:
one advantage to allow us to sleep it seems that only one is able to travel between each floor, thus making it easier for the one on guard to not be overwhelmed before waking us
Linli Speaks:
Being one of magic rest is always important, however, I realize the need to continue to move forward. If we leave and return, I believe things will be much more difficult. Sadly, we didn't think about the need to rest before we entered the stalactite of the Matron Mother, but now that we're here we can't turn around.
Xar'Zin Speaks: I agree we have done, well so far. However, I feel that there are two things that are going to be an issue. the fact that we can only go to each level one at a time; and that we have limited ability to rest. I am sure we can figure a way to make these limitations work for us.
Mike speaks:
I really do not see how we can rest here...We have to make every effort to conserve resourses using deception, or diplomacy to try and get some on our side....No one can trust anybody I relaize, it can also work in our favor possibly
So far things are going , ok. We have completed level 2. And know how to get to level 3. I am concerned about our resources. We seemed to be going through them quickly. At some point.we will have to rest. But I fear that if we do so. We will be attacked. I cant see how the house would allow us to do so. And if we leave. I dont think gaining entry, will be as easy as it was. And we will have to fight the same levels we just cleared. Time is of the essence. I also wonder how much time our friend will give us on this endeavor. Before he becomes impatient, and abandons it completely.
Here are examples of how the high-level houses are situated in Menzoberranzan with regards to stalactite formation. Keep in mind the wide portion is attached to the ceiling.
And here is a more natural fantasy working of a stalactite.
