The next "mini" challenge is quite different and is actually NOT a mini but a terrain piece! I've tried to find good stuff for this category only to fall back upon the same things I already have. A pic of what I have is below.
So, what is the next challenge?
It will be desert plants (primarily cactus). This is a terrain piece I am very short on and in making a desert terrain I feel I can't do it justice. I've bought the set own below which seems to be the one easily found. Size doesn't matter that much as long as it scales fairly well with our minis. A 12-inch cacti would be just a little bit out of place on the battlefield. Use your creative juices and your search minds to find desert cacti! I need your help to diversify this terrain for our game. This contest will be displayed on October 30, 2024, so you have time!
Here are Pictures and Results of the Desert Terrain Mini Purchase Challenge
#1 John: Absolutely fabulous desert terrain. These pieces are so great and exactly what I was looking for. I could not ask for more!
#2 Dan: Really great mini but could be considered slightly off topic. However, they did appear desert oriented and were accepted and enjoyed.
#3 Sean: Great looking mini but a bit small in scale. However, they were cactus and a great looking piece, so they gained this spot.
#4 Mike: Awesome piece but somewhat tiny and unimposing as a desert plant. Just didn't have that "ooomph" feel.
We are close for the -
Cacti and desert terrain reveal!
It's been 6 months in the waiting!
Get ready as the 2x a year $10-$15 purchase for a game "mini/terrain" is just about here!
MY APOLOGIES.
Secret Phrase for 3,000 xp's this week is: "that player drives me nuts with fun however"
purchase is made!
DM Post:
It's been a while for some display and October 30th is the day for some desert terrain. It can be anything other than the things I posted above. Remember I'm looking for something different for desert terrain.
We will vote as always and xp's are gained for all besides the winner! 😵 - KIDDING OF COURSE.
So I have some stuff, (I'll post a pic when I find them),so basically trees, that have tops you put on, making them look like they belong in the savannah. But I'm thinking, WITHOUT the tops, they'd just look like desiccated old dead trees - very desert-ish.

Catus, cacti, succulents, prickly pears, or whatever ya' want to call 'em. The agonizing wait until October continues. This was posted in the warm months of April but will be delivered in the cold month of October as a trick or treat. Something about that doesn't feel right? COLD CACTI I guess?
This 6-month fun game purchase is agonizing for me. You know I buy and buy and buy. That's never the point. It's about the fun to see what YOU buy and find, and a 6-month game purchase wait just seems too long but I'm good with what you want.
Could I persuade you to every 4 months (3x a year to spend $10)? It equates to $30 a year and if that is an issue with budget I understand and will gladly work with you and cover the cost. You still get the mini and in secret I will give you the cost. No need to feel bad with this as I said it's about the mystery purchase by you and not the cost.

Oh, so far, far away but just a simple reminder.
This 6-month wait is agonizing. Do you all really think this $10 purchase should be a 2x a year deal? I'm not the one purchasing so my opinion doesn't matter but I will say.................come on now - this is fun, and the 6-month wait between seems a bit much.

I'm open to anything you think could pass as a desert plant/tree. I listed the challenge as a cactus (which I do love and need). However, any sort of plant that looks to fit a desert terrain is acceptable and could win.
wow this was posted in April really ??... never seen it ... lol .... I guess i was not up on the boards like i thought. WIll try and see what I can find... a strange challenge ... lets hope we dont all come with the same one...lol

I wonder how you guys feel about this "mini" challenge? I think it probably doesn't draw the interest as do the creature challenges, but this was something that I couldn't find variety of and was hoping you could find things I couldn't. Although not the "most exciting mini challenge" it does serve a need in the game, and I am excited to see results.
Hmmm, Cactus or Cacti? However, you say it it's strange this warm weather plant will be revealed in the cold of October. However, chances are it will be warm as the weather has changed and October is now a "warm" month. Let's see who brings the best Cactus!
Sooooo far away! October. 😋
No, need to worry about the next mini contest as it was posted on April 30th. I looked it over and think it's perfect for the next challenge. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
