It's unfortunate the new Sean did not show, nor reach out. He seemed like a nice fit but who am I to say. It is so fantastic that we have our 4 core players that all mesh and play the game so well. We've had some good 5th players, but that spot has always been a rotating cog. Maybe 1 day we will fill it with a great permanent player, but regardless we still have a great 4 core +1!
Hey all, it just occurred to me that I should have reiterated/reminded everyone that I am taking my daughter (freshman) to Vermont this week for freshman orientation move-in Tuesday-Thursday. Sorry, I know it's a pain in the ass, but it's a one-off miss for me, I promise.
We were returning to the Wicked Wench I believe anyway, maybe Flea gets left aboard for a little bit (he lied to the Captain[?] and has to spend the night in the box?) just a thought...
I hear you on the school move in. I got lucky with my son going to university of new haven in Connecticut. His time slot on Wednesday is from 8am- 10 30 AM. So I can still make the game that day.
I love Vermont as I've spent many years there with my parents/grandparents in East Arlington, not far from Bennington. They have a house there. Vermont is my favorite state and have visited there with my current family a few times just to reminisce! LOVE IT!
Sean, we all look forward to meeting you tomorrow. I am not as good as my friend Mike says, but my players are the best in the world 😉! However, that is for you to judge 😁. All kidding aside we're a pretty normal group of guys all around our 50's.
Hello all, Sean here. I guess that makes me the new guy. I am excited to be joining and grateful for the opportunity. It's been awhile since I've been in a regular table top group, so needless to say I'm looking forward to it. I'm open to questions. Or of course, if there's anything I should know, I'm happy to hear it. Thanks again, and I guess I'll see you all in a couple days.
Well, I'm pushing 50 now, even though I don't feel anywhere near that, and that has certainly given me ample time to try quite a bit. I cut my teeth on the old Red D&D Box set when I was 9 and hid it from my mom so she wouldn't take it away from me because it ever so proudly declared itself "For Ages 10 & up" on the cover. So, D&D, or fantasy TTRPG's have been my 'go to' since. But I've tried my hand at MERPS, and GURPS, some Firefly, DC Superheroes, Mutants & Masterminds, a Starfinder game or two, RIFTS, (somehow never found myself in any White Wolf games), Deadlands, Marvel Superheroes, Paranoia (once or thrice), some Steve Jackson games - CAR WARS!, lots of TSR stuff. I'm sure I'm missing a bunch. I've been to a couple of Gen Cons (back in the Milwaukee days - that dates me) and have certainly tried some stuff there.
Other than that, lots of board games with the family, but we tend toward the Catan, Puerto Rico, Ticket to Ride, Seven Wonders, Carcassonne, meeple type stuff.
Welcome, to the game, we are all looking forward to meeting you. It is good to see you have a lot of experience with roleplaying games in general; plus you named several that I loved such as RIFTS, GURPS, DC Super Heroes, Marvel Super Heroes, Mutants & Masterminds, and of course Car Wars (who didn't love a mad max car battle among friends); I was also a huge fan of StarWars Roleplaying Game. All of those games have fallen to the wayside due to life and not having time. The last 20 years have been a blessing being part of a steady group of guys who, I consider each a very close and dear friend. Mike, is correct our DM John has created a homebrew world that has so much depth and life that after playing for 20 years there are still so many secrets to discover. Trust me, there is always a great adventure or battle on the horizon with amazing role-playing. Again Welcome, will see you tomorrow

I will be on vacation that week; however I should be able to make the game. Will know better that Monday August 5th
