Every once in a while, I ask what type of mission you'd like or find enjoyable moving forward. If you could give me an idea of what type of environment, enemy and other details you'd like to add I'd appreciate it.
I may have finally finished writing the mission using each of your desires as suggested on these boards. It's taken some time, but I think you should enjoy it unless you're looking for safe and simple. If that's the case, you may not like it so much 😜. Either way it awaits to be played at some point.
However, you are on the Endless Stairs, and I feel that could be like 20 adventures in itself and could play out for who knows how long. Of course, none of us truly know for it all depends on your dice rolls week to week. I also promise you; I'd never alter a successful roll for the beer stair even if it happened immediately next week. If it happened and we did not get to engage many stairs I'm OK with it but who know maybe you as a group might even want to explore random stairs on your own.
Either way you still have the Frost Giant mission and I think there might be some interest here. But if not, there is so much more adventure that awaits you.
Your world of Krinthius is endless with opportunities and your DM always has things in store waiting for when you to divert your attention to something else! Always ready I think😁.
UPDATE: WOW, this adventure may be one of my favorites in a while if you take it. I'd guess you will as this is what was requested in a mixed bag. Still writing details but it's a long 34-page adventure with another 30 pages of creatures printed so about 64 pages which I'd bet grows! I had to make your requested mission EPIC!
I love all your suggestion so much that I am incorporating ALL of them into the adventure I am preparing. This will satisfy ALL your interests and desires. This is NOT the next mission as it is something I'm just starting to write tonight but when you do it will be epic! What I did was examine all your posts and look for similarity. I then used these to start the adventure write-up. This will take me a bit to complete as I am planning on this being a pretty long and epic adventure. Not epic in level but feel and enjoyment. I'm excited to start writing it!
UPDATE: Maps are done for this. This is going to be a blast when we get to it! Now I have to work on descriptions of each room/area. How evil can I be? Hmmm, how can all pots be incorporated into one mission? Is that possible?
My Desire is for the group to have the freedom to explore and look for places to explore and find forgotten lore, magic, and items.
I will say that I still have no interest in any adventures in the UNDERDARK at this time, due to the past adventures with the illithids and our past campaign with the drow (albino female drow Ira sarrin sp???) I know I will change my mind eventually but not the next mission or three .... lol HOWEVER My top three adventure types are currently:
Exploring the inner or outer planes. Simply an environment outside the prime that may be different, alien and unknown.
Exploring and investigating old ruins and forgotten places. An opportunity to discover some forgotten magic or relics of power.
Investigating and exploring the populated cities where the group can find adventure nearly anywhere from the sewers to the intrigue, and deception of the streets. Where the potential for friends and allies is just as possible as conflict with rivals or enemies.
In playing a paladin..I would love to undertake an epic mission against unholy or undead evil... Strahd might be looking to desecrate an up and coming Paladin? lol
Outer planes would be fantastic as a visit to the nine hells would be a first for us that I can remember...
I loved the boat battle, we just did. Would love to do more with that, but I do understand that we just finished one. I have really been enjoying what we have been doing , currently and the last few months. One thing I will say I dont really like, is going to other planes. I know sometimes it's just where the story takes us. I wouldnt mind a mission where using stealth and sneaking around is the best course of action. A mission where just trying retrieve something, without anyone knowing we where even there. Was also thinking something on the plains. We havent done that in a long time.
I figure I'll start with my personal desires. However, keep in mind this DOES NOT mean I am not interested in other adventure types. I love them ALL and have great enjoyment with every adventure.
OUTER PLANES: I know the group has been against this but I'd love an adventure to the other planes. Any plane really. It gives me an opportunity to break "the rules" of normal gaming where I can be crazy creative with creatures, physics, time, healing and all the normal parameters of gaming!
UNDERDARK: Yep, I miss playing my devious drow, svirfneblin and derro. Of course, there are my favorite aboleth and illithids but I enjoy the journey through the deep, dark and cold caves of the world beneath. Entering the underdark cities of the drow is a blast as they allow it most times but what happens from there is always unknown and a mystery!
