I'm creating this post to separate my DM ramblings from my creative ideas, creations and paints. This post will contain most of my creations, reconstructed mini pics and images.
As you know besides buying "brand name" minis I often buy toys and work them into pretty cool looking minis. I do this predominantly with normal animals and fish that Pathfinder and D&D do not make frequently in mini form. Even if they did each would cost $5+ each so if you wanted 10 manta rays that would cost $50+ plus shipping and tax (about $60 total). I'm not cheap, but I don't like paying for things which I know are not worth it when I can find very suitable minis to represent these things from other sources. Some painting and "BAMN" I have what I want at a fraction of the cost.
So tonight, I painted up some Manta Rays and lizards. For the cost of $41 I got 30 minis. Here is a sample.
I posted a close up of the ray as u can't really make out the green highlighting in the pics. I tried to enlarge the pic but you still can't really see it. It has a fairly heavy green dry brush effect. Tails are being painted a DIFFERENT COLOR right now! The manta rays are my favorite minis of the bunch.
