So, we start next week battling the Mes Waa Circle Monks and their leader Gorab the existential monk in front of the Mes Waa Circle! This battle involves not only them but also some Mes Waa Brutes and Mes Waa Knifers! Seems pretty dangerous.
Let us not forget the Mes Waaa Circle is starting to spark and possibly release more evil into the world of Krinthius! Will this be more enemies to deal with in this battle? Can the Mes Waa Circle be stopped? All questions for next week, but we do know we are in the midst of a big battle!
Post and Gain XP's (and give me happiness and love)! Great game!
You know as characters you can leave any mission or battle at any time you choose. Sometimes missions may be above your grade, but it takes you to recognize that and retreat. Is this one of them?
I hope you like that I throw missions way above your grade, way below and just in the middle. It takes you as players to decide what to accept! I'll never change that as I feel that is the way of the World of Krinthius. Why should everything offered be equal to your skill level? Stupid and silly in my opinion but I'm just speaking form the one-sided DM and maybe I'm the dope and out of reality?
Honest thoughts please!
Some cool photos the Mes Waa Circle and your battle!
To address your question-Why should everything offered be equal to your skill level?
I can only answer for myself; But I feel that We don’t expect EVERYTHING to be offered to be equal to our skill level. However, there is a unwritten expectation of game balance. Meaning the players have a expectation of having a possibility of success. Yes, there is always difficult challenges, and situations where the win-loss conditions are not in the players favor. However, I don’t think any enjoys plays a 10th lvl character who is facing a level 19 challenge. IT often just feels like a no win situation and leaves players scratching there heads on how they even got in that situation. I hope this helped to prove you an open and honest answer
Appreciate the response. Let me clarify more as I think I need to. I will and always have offered missions of varying levels for every group I have played with. However, you must remember the one caveat is there is always a way for the group to be victorious. A recent example of this is the mission to Penumbra and the final battle with 8 savant illithids of exceptionally high level. They would have annihilated the group in an outright battle but there was a means to eliminate them which the group solved and accomplished. It still involved battle and mystery, but you were up against an overwhelming force and found a way to win. Thats epic and what can make a storyline fantastic.
Additionally, you may face wandering encounters that on occasion are above your level. In these situations, you have to be smart and recognize you're overmatched and retreat. What excitement is here when everything you come across is equal in strength to the party? Not exciting and doesn't live up to a game world that is "alive" and "living".
The unknown is exciting. Now, if I were playing with a young inexperienced group, I would never play like this as they wouldn't be able to recognize or gauge the danger factor. With 5 players with maybe 150 years of gaming experience (and much of that with me) I think you all know what lies around the corner could be 2 goblins or 10 cloud giants. Now that's fun 😁.
You know each time you call the Allis Habba Al' group the Hubba Bubba group they get angrier and grow in strength! Best to 🤐 (zip) words against the group that will ultimately eliminate the Sea Dogs. 😁
Perhaps it is just the DM that gets upset because he made up a group name that is a big joke... the hubba bubba group has no thoughts or feelings for they are not real ...lol
I thought maybe they were invested in this portal staying open, but its just a theory.
I am sure it will become clearer at some point. but somehow we became involved in their business or are some kind of competitive issue or threat in some way to them...
I wanted to congratulate the group for seeing through the Allis Habba Al' ploy! You avoided a very bad situation which I know would have been a challenge. Basically, they were luring you into a battle with frost giants only to be hiding high up in the mountains waiting to attack when you appeared weak or in an unfavorable situation. Their attacks were to be unseen and hidden so no blame or responsibility could be equated to them if the situation failed, and you weren't killed.
There is question as to why they are "hunting" the group and that is a very valid inquiry. They have reason, and it's quite simple, but I'm not sure you will easily figure it out.

I think the Hubba Bubba group, is under the paper.
Things are not looking to good, right now. The circle alone may be a high enough challenge. But that monk seems epic, deadly.
As for the hubba bubba group. I dont know why they would mess with us. Unless to just be asses. Or they think we are just push overs.

Yes this monk is super powerful. He took Taladel out in a single round.
Once those brutes close in, whoever is still up by then is going to have a hell of a time...
Retreat is not out of the question here...try and take my guy with you if so!!
