DM Speaks:
If I haven't responded to an email or text, please don't be offended. I've been very busy getting things ready for the first game. Additionally, it's been taking me forever to put away all the minis from Dwakkah. There are hundreds to put away. I'm close to finishing but not yet. I needed to clean up the old before I can feel completely engrossed in the new.
I didn’t do age, height or weight
Because we need to roll for that since it’s random
Who is Xar’Zin Faen'Sszar? Xar’Zin is a calculating, silent shadow—an ever-watchful figure who moves through the world with purpose and precision. Raised houseless in the slums of Mezzobrazan, he learned early that survival depends not on strength, but on subtlety. He became a master of being overlooked—weaponizing others’ underestimation of him.
Trained in the deadly arts of stealth, espionage, and surprise attacks, Xar’Zin slips effortlessly through the cracks of society and the depths of the Underdark alike. Information is his currency, and he sells his secrets to whichever House can afford the price. Loyalty is not his trade—survival is.
But debts catch up to even the most elusive. Xar’Zin owes a favor to House (pick) —a secretive, ambitious House with a reputation for pulling strings from the shadows. That favor has now come due.
Now, Xar’Zin is tasked with retrieving a mysterious item from a vessel on the infamous Darklake. Success may earn him the one thing he truly desires: freedom. Freedom from the Houses. From the gods. From his past. Xar'Zin walks the edge between predator and philosopher—silent, solitary, and loyal only to his own ideals.
I was only Joking about Jaython. He was an NPC that was with us for a while. It was a few years back. As for my name. I like it, alot. I will see what I can do. But I can't promise anything. It takes me a long time, to come up with names.
I would suggest playing with the spelling to give it a more Drow feel - either Jhaethon or Zhae'thon both would still be produced the same as Jaython; to just give you options buddy
I will change mine to Jaython

Not considering a history until a few levels...but for now, he was born in Menzoberaanzan and a memeber of our house and an asspiring Wizard looking to advance himself, and finds himself in the gambling room
This is my current draft of a backstory that I am working on. Again, just a working Idea at this point -not sure if this is what you wanted or needed from us Xar'Zin Faen'Sszar was born under the cold, watchful gaze of the Underdark's eternal twilight—noble blood in his veins, but a shadow already cast over his future. The 19th House, Faen’Sszar, never held the political clout of the higher-ranking noble families, but it was respected for its cunning, its secrets... and its shadows. Xar’Zin’s father, a calculating but honorable Master of Secrets and was one of the few male drow to hold real influence in the matriarchal court. That influence made him dangerous.
The coup came swiftly—whispers in the dark, blades in the night. Blood painted the stone halls of House Faen’Sszar. Matrons were slaughtered, high priestesses silenced, and Xar’Zin’s father died defending his son, Xar'Zin. When the smoke cleared, the 19th House had all but vanished from the hierarchy. Most assumed the line was extinguished.
But Xar’Zin lived.
He was whisked away by the House’s Shadow, an elusive figure known only to a few—a relic of the house’s more secretive traditions. This shadow did not waste time mourning. Xar'Zin’s grief was folded into discipline, his trauma refined into focus. He was not trained in the blade alone, but in the arts of deception, infiltration, silence, and sabotage. The teachings were brutal, but personal—tailored to him, shaping him into something the Underdark would never expect: a male who could rise not through brute strength or status, but through intellect, patience, and subterfuge.
He learned to move between the cracks of society, just as comfortably in the seedy alleys of the Underdark’s trade cities as in the shadowed vaults of noble manors. While other males bowed their heads or clawed for scraps, Xar'Zin learned to observe, to exploit, and to wait. And through it all, he began to question. Why serve a system that would rather see him dead? Why bend the knee to gods and matrons who valued power more than vision?
Now, Xar’Zin is an outlier—a ghost of a dead house with a dagger in his hand and secrets in his smile. He doesn’t seek redemption or revenge, at least not in the way others might expect. What he wants is freedom. From the hierarchy, from the goddess Loth, from the past. He walks the line between predator and philosopher, ever watchful, ever silent, and never truly loyal to anything but his own ideals.
Xar'Zin is the whisper that you barely hear, the blade in the dark, the smirk you didn’t notice until it was too late. I truly hope this is what you are looking for. I feel that I need help with fitting this into your vision for the campaign as well as how to connect with the others in the gambling house.
Sean will be playing: Name: Xar’Zin Faen'Sszar
Race: Drow Class: Rogue Gender: Male Alignment: chaotic neutral Skills: Acrobatics (Dex), Disable Device (Dex), Escape Artist (Dex), Knowledge (Dungeoneering), Knowledge (Local)(Int), Perception (Wis) Perform (Cha), Profession (Wis) (Gambling) Sleight of Hand (Dex), Stealth (Dex) Feat: Drow Nobility (Drow) Traits: Child of the Streets (social) Apprentice (faith) Who is Xar'Zin: Xar’Zin is a calculated, stealthy and quiet individual, constantly analyzing his surroundings to find ways to exploit weaknesses. Having grown up in a lower house, he understands the power of subtlety and prefers for others to underestimate him. Xar"zin moves through the shadows of both society and the Underdark easily because he was trained in the arts of stealth, espionage and deadly sneak attacks. Connection to Others: Good Question; still working that out
